Kim’s coming home! Today, it is announced that Dior will stage its men’s Fall 2022 in London. Taking place November 9, the show sees Kim Jones continue the house’s historic affiliation with the capital city, which began with Monsieur Dior himself, who first held a Dior show across the channel in 1947 – to the delight of Princess Margaret and the Queen Mother, who were in attendance.
“I can’t wait to do a show in my hometown,” says Jones, whose well-travelled nature has seen the designer take previous Dior collections to Tokyo, Beijing and Miami Beach. “We are delighted to be presenting our Fall men’s collection abroad once again, and to be reconnecting with the ‘physical’ runway, an experience that is more important than ever,” adds Pietro Beccari, chairman and CEO of Christian Dior Couture. “London is of course also the city closest to Kim Jones’ heart, where he was born and where he lives, which inspires him with its inexhaustible creativity and which he loves deeply.” Make sure you bring a coat, Kim, it’s bloody freezin’!
