Let us guess, your local McDonalds hasn’t opened yet and you’re living on Tesco microwave meals and Pringles by the plentiful? Or is that just us? It seemed at the start of lockdown everyone was into their cooking. Yet as the weeks have gone by, most of us have returned to our lazy ways, relying on whatever we have tucked away in the freezer. Well, all that’s about to change. In a brand new book La Cuisine Cousu-Main, chef Raymond Thuilier detours through all of Christian Dior’s favourite dishes. The house founder “appreciated refined meals as much as he did the act of enjoying them with friends,” states the official press release, with some of Monsieur Dior’s favourite spots to eat being Le Boeuf Sur Le Toit in Paris and Café Sénéquier in Saint-Trope. Accompanied by beautiful illustrations courtesy of artist René Gruau, update your quarantine cuisine with some of Thuiler’s culinary secrets, which includes plenty of tasty fish and poultry dishes. Dinner is served!
