Dior Re-Open Their Salamanca Madrid Store With A Masked Ball

D7

I’ve never been to a masked ball myself, but I have seen Eyes Wide Shut – meaning my idea of what happens at such an event is probably wildly inaccurate and excessively lewd. And, far from the licentious nature of those here at Ten HQ, the good people of Dior are a far more respectable bunch. We think. We weren’t actually there ourselves, but from what we’ve seen it looks like a thoroughly wholesome, albeit excessively fun, event. Held in the grand setting of the Palace of Santoña with a host of mystical characters, including a fortune teller and a faun, on hand to entertain guests.

The reason behind all this opulence is of course, the re-opening of Dior’s Ready-to-Wear boutique in the Salamanca district of Madrid, which, from what we’ve gleaned via a quick Google search, is basically the posh bit. The boutique is spread across two floors, with the ground floor dedicated to leather goods, accessories, perfumes and shoes, all accompanied by a lovely bit of art courtesy of artist Oyoram. Because you’ve got to have a bit of art. Up the stairs, and an entire floor dedicated to ready-to-wear goodness, along with the exclusive Dior Maison collection. We’re told there’s even a garden terrace – presumably so that shoppers can relax surrounded by some tranquil nature, rather than enjoying a sundowner cocktail – which is obviously what we’d be doing.
