Dior Guggenheim International Gala Fundraiser

DIOR: GUGGENHEIM INTERNATIONAL GALA FUNDRAISER

We’ve woken up to that sinking feeling again this morning, having missed out on an epic party at New Yorks Guggenheim Museum. The annual fundraiser is one of the cities biggest, and honouring artists James Turrell and Christopher Wool for 2013, cocktails and dinner were hosted by Dior- reiterating the brands deep routes within the world of art. *Fact of the day- dissuaded from becoming an architect by his parents Monsieur Dior set up a gallery aged just 23 where amongst his displays sat many of the names now deemed legends- from Dali to Giacometti. Mr. Simons obviously carries this spirit of avant garde in his designs today, as testified by the onslaught of his looks that hit the black (for a change) carpet, which when carried through the Museums Frank Lloyd-Wright serpentine Interiors by the likes of Daria Strokous seemed deserving of a wall or plinth. So what to do about the party-envy bubbling in our chests as we browse images of 10 contributor Derek Blasberg and co having such an amazing night on the tiles? Well we’ll just have to go hard this weekend. Extra hard. Is it too early to crack open the new issues congratulatory fizz? (FROM L-R): Harry Brant, Daria Strokous, Olivier Theyskens, Derek Blasberg.Sidney Toledano, Katia Toledano, Raf Simons.Gaia Repossi and Jeremy Everett. Zosia Mamet. Shala Monroque. Cobie Smulders.
