“WASSUP NAVY” I screamed in the office when I saw the most recent collaboration from my best friend in my head, Rihanna, and Dior. Nobody answered of course, but that’s besides the point. What got me so excited? ‘Rihanna’. And I’m not talking about the Bajan beauty. Queen of the Navy, but rather, the sunglass collection she helped design for Dior. And what better name for it? I certainly can’t think of one. And the sunglasses themselves are giving me cool-as-fuck retro future 80s space age vibes which is exactly what I need for a midweek/payday pick-me-up. My girl Riri cites inspiration from Star Trek, specifically Geordi La Forge. Who knew she was a Trekkie? Sadly the sunglasses are not available yet but are set to be sold exclusively in Dior boutiques in the next couple of weeks. That hasn’t stopped Rih taking them out for a test drive already in a series of images shot to show of the collection as well as taking them out of the town in what she captioned as “when you reppin da PHUCK out yo own shit!!!” and I can’t think of any better way to rep these sunglasses.
