Dion Lee: Ready-to-wear SS17

We’ve got chills, they’re multiplying. That’s just what Dion Lee does to us. Group ZERO seems to was the inspo for Dion in 2016. For AW16, he cited Otto Piene’s work as inspiration. This time, for SS17, he’s looking at other group ZERO members Heinz Mack and Günther Uecker. Dion just loves an avant-garde German artist. But it makes sense. The razor sharp cutting, linear effects, geometric for. This was Lee, elevated. Can we call it super engineering? Because this was the result of Dion’s laboratory of fabric and design experiments. Silk, skilfully and lightly as if suspended in the air – met athletic luxe nylon. Ribbed knitwear was not out of place, with sequins. And then trench shirting, trench coats and double faced trench leather. All trench-based needs well and truly satisfied. And they’ll help with those chills we were talking about. Anyway, the result was that there was something angelic about Dion’s girls. The way they floated, even in the thickest of fabrics. It’s his magic touch. Lucky number seventh show.
