We’ve always been of the opinion that, in just about everything in life, the bigger the better. And, at Dion Lee this afternoon, he seemed to agree – the silhouette expanding as the show went along – moving from sharp, tech-y tailoring to big velvet puffas and ending up with a selection of mahoosive furry jackets. Like Big Bird. Were he orange. Which, by the way, is something we heartily approve of. We have personal space issues and the larger the garment, the further one has to stand away from us. But fear not those of you who desire something a little more slinky – Mr Lee knows the female form and there were also mini dresses, made from a sort of modern chain mail – accessorised with a nice fluffy cardi, or colourful printed dresses that ruffled and flared around the body. We might be a long way from Sydney, but Dion Lee sits right at home in NY.
