Derrick: Ready-To-Wear AW26

Earlier this month, Luke Derrick made the shortlist to this year’s LVMH Prize. As one of only a handful of menswear designers showing as part of London Fashion Week this season, the CSM alum has found a sweet spot through tweaking classic menswear codes with modern flair. He thinks about the inner city lad, who wants a decent fit, something smart to wear, without committing to a prim and proper suit. His trousers, cut from corduroy and heavy wools, adopt the slouch of a pair of trackies, with sporty piping up the side.

Derrick is looking to dress the people he’s surrounded by day-to-day and reflects a London sensibility when it comes to dressing a look up or down. Like chucking a waterproof under a dinner jacket for the Lime Bike home from the pub, for instance. His clothes are practical without dampening their elegance. Suit jackets in olive and white came with built in hoods, car coats were roomy at the shoulder and shirts were tucked under smock tops to introduce a slightly techy feel to some of the looks. They’re the sort of pieces you could integrate into your daily rotation with ease and could make boozing around Dalston feel like something of an event.
