A very wise and chic woman called Jack once declared rather loudly from the basement that, “wrists are the ankles of the arms”. Therefore, if we were to apply that logic to other body parts, ears are the fingers of the head. And, as such, ears and wrists and even fingers should be celebrated. How? With jewels. Delfina Delettrez jewels. (Delfina, so you know is the Dali of jewels. In fact, she’s basically Dali reincarnated without the painting. Jewels that are shaped like fingers, in fact.) A skeleton hand to drape over your own hand. A porcelain finger dripping emerald tears, or even just a bejewelled finger to wear on your real-life finger. Why have four fingers when you can have five? Why not for example suspend a golden arrow from your ear lobe that drips blood red rubies? Why have one face when you can have two or three. Your face and a Delfina Delettrez face just casually hanging from your ear. Four eyes are better than two, or something, so six eyes are unparalleled. Imagine being blessed with the power of sight times six. As Aladdin once sang it would be a whole new world. A new fantastic point of view. One that is six times more potent. On that note, here are six or so fabulous facts about Delettrez that we have gleaned from the internet after many hours of intensive research. She is a Fendi. Is there anything better than being a Fendi? Is there? Who wouldn’t want to be a “working woman with a strong passion for what she does”? When she is tired or a little sad she likes to wear emeralds as she feels that they give her good energy and power. She is inspired by the human body some of the time. The Kama Sutra. So much so there’s a ring that, at first look, seems to be just a gold squiggle, but actually, on closer inspection, is a copulating couple. It’s called the Orgy Ring. She describes her jewellery as toys for adults. Not to be confused with adult toys. She likes toys. Loves them. Plays with her daughter’s toys more than her daughter does. Her opening and closing My World ring was inspired by a toy. She especially likes snap bracelets and is intrigued by the idea of a snap necklace. What she doesn’t mention is that snap bracelets make rather fabulous substitutes for rulers if you should happen to need one and find you are without. She has a laboratory. Like a science laboratory. But for jewels. It’s where she makes her creations and where she likes to sit and watch her artisans make her creations. Apparently it’s a bit like going to school. She can make her own enamel. She learnt. In the laboratory.
