David Sims for Supreme is a book about skater boys. Real ones, not the ones that Avril Lavigne sung about. I suppose they were “sk8r bois” anyway. Different thing. The book documents Supreme’s skateboarding team – Tyshawn Jones, Sage Elsesser, Sean Pablo and Aidan Mackey – via the medium of David Sims’ photography. Which is always great. And so are Supreme’s clothes, especially when you are that way inclined, so obviously the boys look good whilst they are doing it. But skater boys always do, don’t they? My friends and I spent our youth trying to hang out with them. Unsuccessfully. Oh, the nostalgia of rejection! We will be pawing through the pages with teenage desire. And, for those who instead want to make the book into a collectable coffee table tome, you can take it to the Supreme store this Saturday between 6pm and 8pm and get it signed by David Sims himself.
