Just two days following the acquisition of Versace from Capri Holdings by Prada Group, Dario Vitale is parting ways with the Italian house.
Miu Miu’s former design and image director, Vitale was appointed chief creative officer of Versace in March and made his debut with a casually-coded SS26 collection during Milan Fashion Week in September of this year. There, the Italian designer transposed the storied maison’s love of vivid colour, unapologetically and sexy silhouettes into garments targeted toward everyday wear such as T-shirts, jumpers, blousons, vests and jeans – all with a retro twist.
Vitale, who was integral to Miu Miu’s viral success over the three years prior to joining Versace, was the first person outside the Versace family to lead the house following in the footsteps of Gianni and Donatella Versace.
Vitale’s successor is yet to be announced.
