Much felicitations to the lovely Craig Green, who last night beat out stiff competition from Astrid Andersen, Lou Dalton, Christopher Raeburn and Sibling to take this year’s BFC/GQ Designer Fund 2016, supported by Vertu. At a swanky ceremony last night at the Boundary Hotel, Craig took to the stage, thanking those who had supported him thus far. So what does it entail, bar the lovely shiny award that was shoved into his hands? Well – he wins a £150,000 grant, which sounds pretty useful, as too does the £50,000 worth of consultation time with top fashion brains that he’ll also receive. Dylan Jones, Editor of GQ and Chair of LCM, said “this year the level of talent and business acumen presented by the shortlisted designers was even higher than usual, with each designer making a case for themselves. However there was only really one winner, as Craig demonstrated a unique ability to build commercially on the incredible awareness driven by his high-profile shows during London Collections Men. It was a unanimous decision.” Congratulations to Craig from all at Ten Towers, a truly deserved winner.
