You’ve already seen it plastered all over your Instagram. Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant of Coperni concocted a real fashion moment Friday evening. Out came Bella Hadid in flesh-coloured pants, covering her chest. For the grand finale of the brand’s SS23 collection – which featured techy cargo trousers, glossy minidresses coated in glitchy floral prints, and power-shouldered bomber jackets inspired by Roblox game characters – the supermodel posed as two team members sprayed white, foamy liquid onto her body. After a few minutes, the liquid mattified and it only took a few minor tweaks from one of the Coperni design team to establish that Hadid was now wearing a white cocktail dress, which was moments before bottled inside a can.
It’s the latest invention in a slew of technical advancements that form Coperni’s handwriting. Like silk mousseline dresses embroidered with 1000 pieces of broken glass; a follow-up from last season’s blown glass Swipe bag, which this season came fashioned in 18-carat gold. Really impressive stuff.
