Who the hell are we anyway? I mean, honestly, we’re subjected to, and have to live with, SO. MUCH. IMAGERY. Everywhere we look we consume (visually): art and art for advertising and “art direction”; we love it. We speak it! We’re visual aren’t we. “Swipe right”. You can forget all that “reading to length”. People speak pictures these days. And emoticons.
Youth culture is wrapped up in pictures. If you pressed pause on all this visualness and just looked around, or if you, say, kept flicking through the TV channels you’d see all the things you saw in the Comme des Garçons show just. It was a visual feast.
