“Wearing Chloé makes me feel light and ethereal,” says British-Swedish singer and songwriter Mabel, who attended the brand’s AW25 runway earlier today. Over the years the Don’t Call Me Up singer has proven herself to be a front row darling, with her attendance noted at shows across all four corners of the fashion world.
A longtime fan of Chloé, she sat front row to see the flurry of elegantly frothy designs masterminded by creative director Chemena Kamali. Pretty in places and poised for winter weather in others, the offering felt like the perfect balance of day and night. In fact, it was all about that contrast. Kamali wrote in her show notes, “I was inspired by the contradiction of the lavish and opulent with the more paired down realness and instinctive ease of the Chloé woman.” Also born from the idea of both looking back and moving forward, Kamali sought to expand the Chloé girl’s wardrobe while also permeating silhouettes with memories of bygone eras. With Alexa Chung, Petra Collins and Tish Weinstock storming the catwalk amidst dainty silk slips and edgier outerwear, it was a romantic offering fit for the modern woman.
Just weeks after the release of her latest single, All Over You, Mabel attended the show wearing “a gorgeous beautiful breathtaking set. It’s shorts and a top but with a whole lot of drape! A kitten heel cream shoe that laces up my ankle and a teeny tiny gold bag that has nothing in it lol,” which she described as making her feel like a “modern day goddess!” Her favourite thing about Chloé? “The layering!!!” she says, also mentioning that her first memory of the brand was probably its iconic Paraty bag, beloved by girls across the world.
A tried and true fashion week diva, it’d be remiss not to ask her what advice she might have for surviving the madness of the Paris shows: “Don’t do too much!” she says. “It can be exhausting, so be selective so you can really enjoy it!” A pop princess has spoken.
