Coach: Ready-to-wear SS16

Stuart Vevers threw about the phrase “super heritage” to describe his spring 2016 collection, his first official catwalk show for the American-born brand and also the debut of Coach’s new luxed-up high-end line, suffixed with 1941. That’s not the price (it’s all accessible, even this catwalk stuff) but the year Coach was founded in New York – which makes this its 75th anniversary. That’s why there was a buoyant mood, but the stuff on show certainly didn’t feel septuagenarian. Think flirty pleated florals, nifty patchwork and a gotta have-it dinosaur intarsia jumper. It was a T-Rex, king lizard of a few bajillion years BC. Right now, Vevers’ Coach feels like the king of NYC, AD.
