Ten Loves: Church’s The Crown Collection

It doesn’t take a footwear connoisseur to realise that Church’s is the crème de la crème of gentlemanly footwear. The Prada-owned shoe brand took to London last month to unveil its new The Crown collection – prepped and primed with a pristine range of formal men’s shoes that celebrate the art of traditional shoemaking that’s been at the heart of the Northampton-born brand since its inception in 1873.

The fab four styles that populate the collection include the Notting Hill, the Mayfair, the Belgravia, and the Hampstead – each named after swanky districts dotted across the Big Smoke. It was fitting that the brand chose The Ned hotel and members’ club plonked in the heart of East London’s financial district to unveil the collection. Formerly the Midland Bank headquarters, its vintage chandeliers and wood-panelled interiors was a perfect match for Church’s, which has proven itself as a maestro in old-timely elegance reimagined for the modern day.

Following the unveiling of the new collection, the brand hosted a dinner with its extended community in the capital, which included actors Paapa Essiedu and Harry Lawtey, and designer Charlie Casely-Hayford.
