This is Chinese girl gang jewellery. When your posse drives through Shanghai dressed in black-on-black Dior, you know they got it. Got it. In Christian Dior fine jewels. How else are they supposed to differentiate between minions and high priestesses? Every self-respecting girl gang, much like the Chinese calendar, has 12 animals, as do the Dior jewels, which, ergo, makes them perfect for signifying who’s who in glorious multicoloured precious stones. The dragon, obvs, is top dog; the rat, a minion. Much better than those teardrop tattoos used by their Mexican sisters.
