Charlie Constantinou: Ready-To-Wear SS26

Charlie Constantinou has carved out his own space in fashion – one that focuses on innovation and adaptation. His SS26 collection, Season 5, was no exception. Set within the brutalist concrete walls of 180 Strand, NewGen’s catwalk space, Constantinou took attendees on a trip from night to day, emphasised by colour.

Under the low lights, layered-knee trousers, a bomber jacket with multiple zip pockets and a darted jersey dress appeared in graphite grey, marking a darker colour palette than previous seasons. Looks transitioned into washed blues and turquoise, earthy browns and greens, red, and electric purple as the show unfolded. Fabrics were hand-brushed with ink, puff printed and dyed into irregular palettes, all of which spotlighted Constantinou’s expansive experimentation this season. The finale was where the hues made the most impact though, with models walking in flocks of monochromatic colours.

Fusing his signature gorpcore aesthetic and London streetwear codes with elements of medieval Europe, the Middle East and Asia, armour-inspired shoulder detailing and geometric patterns were paired with technical fabrics that audibly swished with movement. The brand’s signature expandable quilted bag – allowing wearers to adapt the size to their own preference – made its return, brushed with a silver sheen that captured the light.

Constantinou’s tireless pursuit of functional and purposeful design was central to the collection. Construction was as intentional as the fabric choices, colours and technical innovations, all of which are sure to endure the test of time.
