This morning Antony and Natalie went on a little adventure to the Chanel watch and fine jewellery boutique which just reopened on New Bond Street. The renovation was carried out by our fetish wearing architect – Peter Marino and according to Natalie was a sleuthy operation. Sleuthy in the way that from the outside it looked as if the old boutique were still running as usual, and the boom, the new boutique appeared as if by magic. As you can see from the pictures above, when you enter the boutique it’s like being transported into a world of luxury. And that wasn’t the only magical thing in the store. From Natalie’s gushy recital of her experience at the boutique I can gather that there was an elevator running through the store. Not just any elevator, but a glass elevator. Much like the glass elevator in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Which got me thinking that Karl is much like Willy Wonka, and all of us peasants are the children he invites into his glamourous Chanel factory. So, like Willy says (or sings) “come with me, and you’ll be in a world of pure imagination.” If that won’t have you running down to visit the boutique, I don’t know what will!
