CHANEL: THE SNEAKER
There was a young woman who lived in a shoe.
She had so much money, she didn’t know what to do;
She wore diamonds and rubies and only Chanel;
Famous was she for dressing so well.
This young woman was called Vincenza. She lived in a shoe, though it was a sneaker really – from Chanel’s spring/summer 2014 haute couture collection, don’t you know. Things were looking up for Vincenza. A short marriage to a rich husband had left her with a rather large disposable income. Work was no longer a necessity and acquiring a property was now a possibility. With ample funds, she naturally thought big, wanting the most extravagant shoe in all the land. And what could be more extravagant than a Chanel sneaker? Multicoloured tweed, metallic leather, a thick rubber sole – this shoe had it all. Having looked around the property, Vincenza made her decision in a heartbeat. Whipping out an expensive fountain pen from her Chanel clutch bag, she signed the contract immediately. Several days later, reclining on her antique chaise lounge, Vincenza breathed a deep sigh of contentment, “Yes, this will do nicely."
