CHANEL: SPRING SUMMER 2014 MAKE-UP PRESENTATION
From the clean black and white space to the products themselves, it was all unmistakably Chanel. The first masterpiece Sophie and I witnessed at the presentation with pro celeb make up lady Lisa Eldridge was a simple day look using the fancy Les Beiges ‘All-In-One Healthy Glow Fluid’. Left the model looking like she’d had a good kip. The second had a bit more colour to it, but was equally subtle. Finally a look Lisa did on Keira knightly the other day – a matt but still dimensional face with some drama around the eyes, using all sorts of understated but seriously beautifying treats. Special sexy smokey tip of the day: A precise line is harder to smudge – do a horribly messy line instead. Not that I’ll be performing this on my face any time soon – being a (very manly) man and all, but being horribly messy myself, I like the philosophy. We like how Chanel’s products always have an ease to them- an effortlessly presentable mug can be yours without the need for expert technique- but it was the impressive technology in the new formulations that was the most pleasing.
