How do you improve a classic? Add a tech twist. That’s how Arnaud Chastaingt, director of the Chanel Watch Creation Studio, approached the evolution of the Première watch.
Introduced in 1987, the timepiece is steeped in Chanel iconography. Its octagonal case is inspired by the No.5 bottle stopper, while the distinctive chain-and-leather strap mirrors the brand’s famed bag straps. The latest addition is the Première Sound watch, which comes with state-of-the-art, double-C-emblazoned earphones (a first for the famed French house). The Première Sound can be worn two ways. The watch’s long chain and leather strap can be wrapped around the wrist as a bracelet or unfurled and worn as a necklace. The headphones attach to smartphones or audio devices and are equipped with a microphone and remote control (to adjust volume, control audio and video playback, and receive phone calls). What more do you need? Seizing the moment has never looked so chic.
