The sign of a good party? Falling into a flower bed on the way out. Naming no names, of course. For that was the ending of what was a magical evening of festivities at the opening of Chanel’s Mademoiselle Privé exhibition, presided over by the man himself, Karl Lagerfeld. It was kind of like having a travelling royal in town. Do we bow? Curtesy? Not look him in the eye? Karl was of course joined by a bevy of his muses – Julianne Moore, Vanessa Paradis, Isabelle Huppert, Geraldine Chaplin, Jamie Bochert, Stella Tennant, Jemima Kirke and Rita Ora to name but a few. It all begun with a fairly civilized viewing of the exhibition (which you can read about here), before the walls were pulled back and it was into a Chanel’s very own club with live performances by St. Vincent and Jamie Bochert, before Lily Allen, Jonnie Wilkes and Jarvis Cocker joined on the DJ decks. I mean, it was never really going to end any other way, was it?
