One thing many of us will be missing during self-isolation is live music. Those evenings spent at your local bar, or a favourite venue of yours situated on the other side of the city. For those select few hours, you get to experience the tunes you’ve been bumping repeatedly on Spotify for months, finally up close and personal. It can be truly mesmerising when an artist you’ve admired from afar is suddenly standing mere meters in front of you; singing the songs you adore. The rapid spread of the Covid-19 virus has put a drastic halt to these magical moments, with most gigs and festivals set to take place this summer across the globe having to be postponed or axed.
Though that’s not to say we have to forget about live music completely. Today, Chanel are set to stage something rather special exclusively on their Instagram stories. The Parisian house will be streaming an intimate live performance from Belgian singer Angèle at 12 pm BST. “Chanel wishes to express its solidarity with everyone staying at home or affected by the Covid-19 pandemic during this sensitive time,” said the brand in a statement. You know what to do, get to Instagram at mid-day for a truly special moment to be enjoyed from the comfort of your own living room.
