Chalayan Paris Fashion Week S S 2015

Hussein Chalayan today was a lighter, more summery attitude. Clever touches in the jackets that transformed into transparent kimonos that turned from shrugs to fulL-blown billowing capes. But perhaps the pieces that caused the most discussion where the long floor-length gowns with burqa-wearing women embroidered on the front. Consequently the backstage moment became dominated with Hussein being interrogated as to the rational behind this decision. He declined to be drawn into this at that moment as frankly this could not be how the collection should be defined but in a broader sense that it felt much more believable, wearable and light but without comprising any of design integrity.
