Time to appropriate Deep in Vogue lyrics – which were once en vogue, just like Beaton has been in Vogue, as you may gather from the title of the newest book to celebrate his work, Beaton in Vogue – “In my black tights just throwing shade… Imagine runway modelling in freeze frame”. Well, most photographs are essentially freeze frame, and you have to admit that Beaton was kinda masterful at the whole shade and lighting thing. Out Now.
