Collabheads beware. Amazon and Calvin Klein are in for seconds! After the first round, we wished on a star for it to not be the last. Alas, our little wish came true!
Think back to the year 2017 (although it was just a year ago, we cannot deny the fact that 2018 has taken an exponentially long time round off), CK and the Amazon fashion team conjured up a Black Mirror-type shopping experience. With exclusive pop-up shops in both New York and Los Angeles, the #MyCalvins campaign set up shop in the brick-and-mortar store packed with Amazon’s most innovative technology, not to mention the classics and exclusive CK intimates. Shoppers were told to purchase items online via the Amazon app whilst in the store – all with a catch – no prices displayed, and with a crafty algorithm the Amazon app would vary accordingly!
Now the dynamic duo is back with their latest scheme: Calvin Klein x Amazon Fashion NYC Market. A three-day event in New York’s Flatiron District and college campuses in the country. Due to the success of the previous campaign, they have decided to obscure the shopper experience, yet again, but this time with youths in mind. Chief Marketing officer at Calvin Klein states, “we are creating a phy-gital experience in the middle of New York City, reinforcing our commitment to a consumer-first strategy.”
Visitor’s will be asked to reimagine and shoot the “together in denim” billboard with an opportunity to win prizes – now remember, this is CALVIN KLEIN AND AMAZON! The campaign will also include an exclusive product drop by Calvin Klein Jeans titled in memory of the Fashion killer artist, The Asap Rocky Trucker; #MyCampus programs across Amazon locations in the country allowing students to interact with the brand from the comfort of their own dorms. Yes to all that!
The Amazon x Calvin Klein Pop-Up is up from 5th to 7th of October in New York.
