“I wanted to show the universal power of men’s tailoring,” said Italo Zucchelli after a Calvin Klein Collection autumn/winter 2016 show that demonstrated just that, including the stuff on a bunch of power women – models Mariacarla Boscono, Iselin Steiro, Jessica Miller and Gemma Ward – to underscore its impact. But actually the impact came from the precision possible only by Klein’s expert craftsmanship, also allowing them to inset metallic foil finishes into garments and make the whole thing look effortless. The quintessential end to a Klein show? Logoed long-johns as trousers, bottoming more of those beautiful black jackets. Suits you, sir.
