Burberry Preview Their Artsy AW16 Campaign

Fans of classic portraiture as we are, the men and women of Ten Towers are often found drawing small illustrations of one and other. Upon post-it notes. Call it an outlet for our overflowing creativity. Or deep narcissism. Whatever. Not that we are terribly good – I, invariably, look like some sort of hairy ogre, Will a strong-jawed, heavy eyebrowed brute and Dominic, well, in his words, “I look like fucking Frieda Kahlo”. Either way, it seems like Burberry have been inspired by our creative endeavours, enlisting not us but an actual real proper artist, to illustrate their latest campaign by the name of Luke Edward Hall. He’s a bit of a wunderkind, apparently. Talking to Harper’s Bazaar about the campaign, he said, “I find inspiration in lots of places – the English countryside, novels, music… I especially love going to Italy to find inspiration – the architecture, the people, the landscape, the food… I also spend time looking at and reading about the artists and designers I admire.” Alongside his whimsical illustrations, designed to “capture the artisanal spirit of the collection”, the campaign also stars real-life Edie Campbell and real life Callum Turner, shot by equally real life Mario Testino. And they look dashing, naturally. Two works of art in a single image. Print them out and stick them in a frame. Auction them off. Get rich.
