After Marcus Rashford MBE‘s emotional open letter to his 10-year old self, that accompanied the announcement of his partnership with Burberry to support the voices of tomorrow and youth charities, we couldn’t wait for more from this team-up. Luckily for us, a week later and Rashford is back, starring in the house’s latest campaign which sees the continued celebration of community and young voices. “This campaign is about looking forwards,” explains Riccardo Tisci. “Looking to the future – inspired by youth, it brings together a community of different talents and worlds as one.”
Within the campaign, Burberry successfully brings together the creative spheres of fashion and dance as well as sport, give or take a few giant snowballs. With choreography by (LA)HORDE, “a troupe of four young dancers explore a modern reconfigured British landscape, a choreographed terrain journeying from city to sea.” Decked out in recycled nylon puffer jackets, the new Pocket Bag and signature Burberry trenches, the dancers navigate through a London high street, dodging a larger-than-life hail storm. The film sees the coming together of the luxury designer brand with independent, community-driven stores, reinforcing Rashford’s initiative to support young people and the communities they live in and rely on. And with Burberry being well and truly part of Britain’s heritage, nothing screams Britain more than Burberry trenches, bad weather and a chippy!
