Brunello Cucinelli’s SS25 collection, aptly titled Acts of Instinct, was a masterclass in contemporary elegance and effortless style. Presented as a lookbook, each piece whispered of a refined ease, capturing the essence of modern sophistication.
The collection arrived in an array of delicate pastels – grapefruit, papaya, ginger – acting as new neutrals. These shades danced alongside classic beiges, greys and blues, with highlights of warm English white and deep bark-like browns. Suits in cherry blossom, cream, and sky blue set a fresh, summery tone, redefining seasonal elegance.
Natural fibres took centre stage, with silk leading the way, presented in pure forms and luxurious blends, always maintaining a matte finish. This fabric even ventured into the realm of outerwear and denim, adding an unexpected twist to menswear staples. Summer outerwear echoed the voluminous sartorialism of the 1980s, crafted from high-performance tailoring fabrics enhanced with technical membranes for added protection. Knitwear was another standout, exploring diverse textures and innovative approaches to suit styling. The spectrum ranged from light T-shirts and polo shirts to cardigans in soft malfilé cotton, perfect for spring. A new blend of fine cashmere and linen introduced sophisticated, lighter knits, with striped patterns.
In many ways, the collection paid homage to classic sports silhouettes with capsules dedicated to tennis and golf, reimagined with a refined, casual-chic flair. Accessories meanwhile, reflected a commitment to craftsmanship, offering loafers with woven leather uppers, espadrille-style details and trainers inspired by the ’70s, all designed for supreme comfort and style. As a whole, the collection was a seamless blend of tradition and innovation, capturing the instinctual elegance of contemporary dressing. It celebrated the pleasure of dressing with ease, proving that true style is effortlessly achieved.
