Brunello Cucinelli: Menswear AW23

Injected with a delicate dose of time-honed luxury, Brunello Cucinelli’s AW23 assortment awakens the charisma that lies within classics.

Not one designer is a better candidate to reinvent tradition than Cuccinelli. Since 1978, both the man and his brand have aged like fine wine. Speaking of vino, the rich palette of the sophisticated collection was actually inspired by historic wine blends, made demure and greyed to palpably show the inevitable attrition of time and maturity. Alongside precious beiges and urban blues, the threads are fitted to the forms of two age-defying, in-house, Cucinelli clones. They wear softer silhouettes than we’ve seen in previous seasons. Blazers and bottoms are looser, cosier and cropped – the trousers in particular feature a new ankle-grazing length he calls “alla Milanese’. Elsewhere, like mid-century movie stars, the glamour of old Hollywood elevates the eveningwear, transposing velvet tuxedos and shiny patent calfskin footwear.

Exemplifying understated elegance, the well-tailored soft suit is the cornerstone of the collection. Contemporary, comfortable and unprecedentedly versatile, it’s meant to be meticulously mismatched and worn with whatever goodies you might find in your wardrobe. This is thanks to well-balanced fabrics that allow the wearer to convert the style of a jacket, pairing it with different trousers than displayed here.

It’s an eclectic offering, perfect for evenings with the family by the fire or going full mountain man and venturing into the great outdoors. However you wear it, Brunello Cucinelli’s AW23 collection is eternal.
