News of another stellar addition to next weeks British Fashion Awards roll call of honourees has sent us a little soft this morning. Legendary lensman Chris Moore- who is set to be presented with the Special Recognition Award for his remarkable six decade spanning career on Monday, holds a rather special place in our hearts. Having shaped our perspective on the fashion world with runway reportage- from it’s days as a niche exercise, to the continued success of essential industry tool Catwalking.com, we can’t help but wonder where exactly we’d all be without his steadfast photographic insight? As Suzy Menkes puts it- obviously rather eloquently, ‘his archive is a history of fashion from Yves Saint Laurent to Cara Delevingne – with anyone in between who mattered in the fashion universe. Chris has been in at the beginning of everything and everyone. His camera nestles in a telescope box which has become his signature and his logo. I have worked with him for 25 years – and I salute him.’ Mr. Moore- we’re very much looking forward to offering you our own salute come the big night, via raised glasses-naturally.
