Being, as it is, that my dalliances with the world of rock and roll stretch as far as knowing that Sarah Harding is the self-proclaimed “rock chick” of Girls Aloud, I am possibly not the most qualified person to talk about Brioni’s brand new campaign, the first under new Creative Director Justin O’Shea. Why? Because it features Metallica, who are, or so I’m told, a heavy metal band, and a very famous heavy metal band at that, legendary even. Who knew. Here though, the rock and roll royalty (literally – they are inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame) look rather dapper, clad in very nice bits of Brioni. But still edgy. Don’t mess. Much brooding staring and gritted teeth. We’re into it. The campaign also reveals the brand new Brioni logo, a reinterpretation of the company’s history branding utilized from 1955 to 1986, apparently. So there we go. Justin’s very first show will occur during Couture week on July 4th. We’re positively wet with excitement.
