Yet another excuse for us to make a quick cross channel trip in the form of Brioni’s brand new flagship store, opening up in the glammy locale of Rue Saint-Honoré in gay Paris. It’s the first under new Creative Director Justin O’Shea, who not only expertly fills out a three-piece suit, knows how to make a very nice one (as evidenced by his very first collection for the Italian house during couture) but now shows he also has a knack for a gorge-y interior. What a man! So, how does he like his Parisian shopping experiences served? On a big fat slab of marble. Which there is plenty of here to luxuriate upon. Although what you see is not actually marble, but “grey tavertine,” which looks pretty much the same but was the stone du jour in Ancient Rome, thus making the whole thing a nod to Brioni’s Roman heritage, “showing that the brand has one foot in the past and one foot in the future,” according to the press release. Designed by David Chipperfield architects, the store is open now at 370 Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris…
