Brioni Award Winner Announced By Special Jury

Celebrating a whole decade of creative partnership and the transferal of sartorial know-how to the next generation of design talent, Brioni, together with the Royal College of Art, have announced the winner of their tuxedo design competition. As long term supporters of the college’s MA Menswear Fashion Design Course, the Italian House launched a project earlier this year, entered by hundreds of RCA students, centred on the realisation of a timeless classic: the tuxedo, a staple of Brioni’s inspiring work over the past 70 years. Three lucky participants were then selected to spend a week at Brioni’s Scuola di Alta Sartoria in Penne Italy, honing their sartorial tailoring technique and culminating in a special award ceremony, held yesterday evening at Brioni’s London store. Scouring the land for the wisest fashion heads to judge said competition, Brioni’s search inevitably led them to the doors of Ten Towers, where our very own Garth Spencer was selected as a member of the jury. Known, as he is, for a keen eye wherever issues of the male form are concerned, Mr. Spencer, together with the rest of the panel of judges, selected Anna Talvi’s tuxedo design as the winner of the prestigious Brioni award and recipient of a scholarship. A huge congratulations from everyone at Ten.
