It’s the end of an era at Jil Sander. After nearly eight years at the helm, Lucie and Luke Meier have officially taken their final bow as co-creative directors, marking their last collection for the house earlier today.
Renzo Rosso, chairman of OTB Group, which owns Jil Sander, expressed his gratitude to the duo for their vision and relentless pursuit of excellence. The Meiers, in turn, thanked Rosso and the Jil Sander team, calling it a journey filled with passion, talent, and collaboration.
Since joining in 2017, the husband-and-wife duo have redefined Jil Sander’s DNA, blending sharp tailoring with a softer, more soulful minimalism. Their collections have been a masterclass in restraint – clean lines, luxurious fabrics and an obsession with detail that made quiet statements feel thunderous.
Jil Sander, founded in 1968 and acquired by OTB in 2021, remains an institution of modern sophistication. What’s next for the Meiers? And, more importantly, who will step into their shoes? The rumours are already rife. Watch this space.
