Brandon Maxwell brought Texas to New York Fashion Week tonight! First of all, the invite to every editor was a pair of Lucchese cowboy boots, which should have been a massive indicator of what to expect. Oh boy… Were we given so much more! Burgers and cocktails on arrivals with so many beautiful flowers all piled up at the back of pick-up trucks – this was definitely a more glamorous version of an All-American tail gate.
Brandon, I feel I can call him that, has always celebrated his roots, his family and the women in his life. His clothes are a celebration of women- the stunning and pregnant @lilyaldridge glowed with loveliness when she strolled down the runway in a stunning red gown- bump and all! Bella, Gigi, Joan and the rest of the models all radiated happiness and fun! The gowns were Oscaroworthy and will dominate red carpets but it was the white t-shirts, jeans and jackets that were all staples for any woman’s wardrobe. In shades of reds, pinks, bright golden yellow, whites, this collection had it all for all women. And when he came out at the end, he kissed his grandmother – you could absolutely feel the pride radiating from her. He is the new American hero of NYFW.
