Bottega Veneta’s remit is luxe at every level and for every moment of the day. Gone hikin’, shootin’ or fishin’ – in fact, gone to the desert (there was a bit of the desert sandstormy stuff fast emerging as a Milanese must-have chez Bottega)? That’s no reason you can’t wear hernia-inducingly expensive duds with all the bells and whistles of the deluxe suiting the rest of Milan is churning out. Tomas Maier is clever. He gets that rich blokes want to dress well regardless of what they’re doing, not just when they’re on the straight and narrow. His BV is an all-terrain vehicle.
