We know you’re probably gutted right now after being broken the news that Winter Wonderland won’t take place this year. The annual funfair, beloved by Londoners and tourists alike, was forced to cancel in the face of Covid-19. Although you won’t be able to splash the cash on overpriced bevvies and extortionate ride tickets, there’s no need to be doom and gloom about it – Bottega Veneta has crafted a winter wonderland of its own, and its a whole lot chicer.
Candy-floss stands and flashing lights from the waltzers have been swapped out for the splendid fashions that make up Daniel Lee’s AW20 collection for the house. Photographed by on-going collaborator Tyrone Lebon, a legion of Bottega muses – including Abbey Lee, Tobias Dionisi and Sacha Uhlemann – pose on glistening white snow.
The vivid hues Lee envisioned for this season, including neon greens and cherry reds, look electric against the crystal-like terrain – particularly the lavish fringing and streamlined sequined gowns. This season, Lee also introduced the Puddle boot, an ultra-lightweight interpretation of the classic rain boot, made from Biodegradable Polymer. Who wants to play out in the snow without a decent pair of wellies?
