Say yes to heaven, say yes to Blumarine’s SS24 collection. In shades of metallic gold, cloud white, soft beige and sunrise purple, Blumarine’s angels glided through the white show space in a collection that was toned down and as Nicola Brognano said, all about lightness. Feathered angel wings were life size, super low-rise pants skimmed the floor, sheer jersey dresses came rusched and strappy and sometimes pants were simply forgotten.
The Blumarine butterflies were ever present – last season they morphed into the memorable crop top that was the star of the show, made ultra desirable by Rosalia in her ‘Vampiros‘ music video – this time they kaleidoscope’d onto mini dresses, were crafted into underwear, and unfolded into little handbags. And while they were oh so angelic, they wore midnight-black party dresses and sequinned barely-there panties for after-dark, as they walked to the beat of Lily Rose Depp’s ‘World Class Sinner/I’m A Freak’ from The Idol. Purely cathartic.
