Congratulations to the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund shortlist who were announced this morning as Emilia Wickstead, Mother of Pearl, Osman, Prism and Sophia Webster, all chosen by an esteemed array of judges including Caroline Rush, Sam Cam, Lisa Armstrong and VB (amongst other very important people) and chaired by Vogue-ed Alexandra Shulman. The eventual winner will win mentoring over a twelve month period, as well as a £200,000 grant to “take their business to the next level”. Oooh. Alexandra Schulman said this morning, “this is an inspiring shortlist because of its diversity. It’s a great representation of the spread of British fashion designers and all the contenders have huge strengths to their creative visions.” We wouldn’t mind a little fashion fund for ourselves, to be honest. A little kitty of coppers ready for when we want to make our next Prada purchase. Anyone willing?
The winner, supported by British Vogue, Burberry, Harrods, Paul Smith and Topshop, will be announced Tuesday 22nd March 2016.
