BERNINI: SCULPTED LOOKS

We’re totally mesmerised by the dynamic muscularity of the sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s “clay sketches” on show in this comprehensive new exhibition of the test models for his iconic works. Unfortunately, our squidgy forms can’t be fired to rock-hard effect in a kiln, so bench presses and swoons to rival the Ecstasy of Saint Theresa it is. (Though agony’s probably more accurate.)
