This is what inspired the label’s latest sporty sneaker, the Playoff, which evokes the innovative tenor of a 1980s or early 90s high top basketball shoe and pays homage to Berluti’s first-ever sneaker, the Playtime. There are leisurely low top trainers too, embellished by the Berluti Scritto signature on the padded tongues. Regardless of the cut, the kicks are crafted using Berluti’s trademark Venezia leather, expanding upon its AW22 assortment of leather goods, showcasing the modernity of the heritage house and its evolution into new lifestyles.
Available now online and in Berluti stores, the trainer comes in nero grigio, steel blue with red accents, purple with neon blue trimmings, and honey hues created via a time consuming, hand-done patina technique in which the upper edges are highlighted in a contrasting tone with a pencil. Chunky laces pop with colour too, criss-crossing over the bespoke sleek upper’s 80-piece assemblage of leather cutouts as the result of impressive artisanal work. Step into city style with Berluti.
