Bao Bao Issey Miyake Are Bringing An Interactive Event To London Design Festival

X Factor and all – everyone dreamed of being a musician at some point in your life. A lot of us would’ve tackled extra-curricular music lessons, religiously studied the moves of Jagger and spent at least one Christmas morning with our tiny little hands wrapped around the neck of an acoustic Gibson in a bid to be the next real-life guitar hero. However, most ended up giving away their musical dreams after all, with the guitars we once begged our parents for now sold on eBay, or worse, flogged down at the car boot sale. But there’s now a chance that could change it all.

Taking place during the London Design Festival this week, Bao Bao Issey Miyake present Bao Bao Voice, an interactive event which takes the engineering behind Miyake’s geometric bags to multi-sensory new heights. Using a cutting-edge mechanism, the bag’s geometric structures will be synchronised to sounds which will prompt corresponding visuals. Simply touching the triangular pieces on the bags and you can become the musical protege you always dreamed of. And that’s not all. There will be a pop-up shop brimming with loads of Bao Bao goodies, including the AW19 collection which will also make its technicolour appearance with a rainbow-hued installation using over 100 bags. So whether you’re wanting to reignite that musical spark or just want some retail therapy with a colourful twist – a visit to Bao Bao Voice is a must.

Bao Bao Voice takes place September 17th – 23rd at Protein Studios Shoreditch, London EC2
