Backstage at Balmain the brilliantly unbridled, unashamed glamour of proceedings quickly took hold. Or would it be better described as bridled glamour this season as Rousteing’s troupe of supers sported graphic cage ensembles, metallic collars and bangles to rival Wonderwoman’s. More than ever the collection had the quality of armour, which in cinching and re-enforcing, presented the most beautifully weaponised vision of the Balmain woman to date. Our favourite exits came smothered with Swarovski crystals. Guaranteed to set off something akin to a fireworks display under any given disco ball, they’d be the perfect choice for a full blown dance floor assault.
