In fashion news today Balenciaga is upping its eyewear game, partnering with Kering Eyewear to release the next collection of shades. We’re always eyeing those sunglasses and prescription style frames that come down the Balenciaga runway, Demna Gvasalia just knows what’s good. From those wiry, nerdy looking frames to swift, cats eye micro sunglasses and oversized, disguised styles. The first Balenciaga eyewear collection under Kering will launch as part of the Spring 2019 collection in October and will be available in Jnauary 2019. All good things come to those who wait, we say through gritted teeth. Previously releasing eyewear under Marcolin, the move for Balenciaga’s eyewear sector makes sense, with the brand being part of the Kering Group since 2001. “We are delighted to collaborate with Kering Eyewear”, said Cédric Charbit, Balenciaga’s CEO. “We will rely on their exclusive expertise to fully exploit and reach Balenciaga’s potential in the category.” A little exploitation and Demna dreaming up new ways for us to see the world. Onwards and upwards.
