Yesterday evening, Giorgio’s shiny tribe of movers and shakers descended on Mayfair’s legendary Tramp nightclub for a night of unbridled debauchery. At least, we assume that’s what happened. It’s what we’d do if we were famous and didn’t pay for drinks. The cause of all the fuss was Armani’s extraordinary new twinned boutique cum palazzo that, from the pictures at least, looks like it could double up as a Pharaohs living quarters in some blockbuster. Throw in a few eunuchs fanning a banana leaf and you’re there. Anyway, on the ones and twos were De La Soul and DJ Harvey – an iconic musical ensemble that would put just about any launch party headliners to shame, and the ideal inauguration soundtrack for this stunning new space. A baptism of bass weight. On to the celebs bit, and it’s a typically stellar list, with guests including Cate Blanchett, Clive Owen, Cressida Bonas, Loyle Carner, Hermione Corfield and Yasmin Le Bon.
