With the beauty hall of Harrods expanding to launch skincare, you really shouldn’t need another excuse to make a trip to Knightsbridge. Saying that Alexander McQueen are adding incentive this October, opening their debut pop-up inside the Exhibition Windows of the legendary department store this Saturday. The display will centre around couture-level show-pieces, created by hand in McQueen’s London atelier, with an environment created to reflect the house’s intrinsic appreciation of the natural world. The looks on display all take inspiration from roses, showcasing two blooming taffeta numbers and two black wool-silk tuxedos, the first with draped sleeves in fuchsia rose silk satin and another with a silk taffeta rose at the hip. And a pop-up usually means one thing: exclusive pieces. You can expect a sumptuous selection of accessories from a Jewelled Satchel to the classic Four Ring Clutch in a choice of ivory-stamped lizard, midnight blue or deep forest green. Tempted?
